I hired a dwarf mercenary star troll slayer. You have to be standing next to the opponent at the beginning of your turn, which means if its an assassin (AV 7 and all), your opponent might have something to say about that. You will hear tales of the assassin that makes great use of it, but if you ever meet one, let me know as I doubt they live long and I've never seen it be worth it. There are lots of scenarios to use it, but imo none of them are really any good. Simply click on your player before throwing the block and select the skill.
